The name, inspired by Eddie Lovette’s reggae love song, was a unanimous choice, reflecting the band’s ethos of creating music that touches the soul.

With members parting ways and new talents joining, such as the versatile musician William Simpson, the band’s sound continued to evolve. Significant milestones in their journey include a breakout performance at the 2022 Fiji Gold Reggae Festival and a memorable appearance at the Fiji Fringe Festival.

Today, Sweet Sensation stands as a beacon within the Fijian music scene with their music a diverse tapestry woven from different genres, defying categorization and continually evolving. The band with core members Olsen Sefo, Authur Penjueli, and Thomas Waqairawai still at the helm.

Olsen J Sefo, the band’s frontman and lead singer, brings more than just his killer vocals to the stage. His humorous presence and commanding performance style are the soul of Sweet Sensation. Authur Mathews, the versatile bassist and lead guitarist, is the band’s administrative anchor, managing gigs and band logistics. His quick wit and “What if” scenarios, infused with Rotuman humor, often turn tense moments into bursts of laughter. Authur’s musical journey is deeply rooted in his family, with his partner Romana and sons providing the bedrock of his inspiration.

Here, they were joined by Isaac Bainivalu from The Gang on keys and Tawake Jackson from PARADISE ROOTZ on bass. This jam session, a blend of skill and spontaneous energy, captivated everyone present.
