Festival de la Francophonie in Suva, Fiji

Alliance Française is proud to present the Festival de la Francophonie in Suva, Fiji, from March 20 to April 4, 2023. The festival will celebrate the French language and culture through a variety of events for all ages and interests.

Events:

For Young Audience:

• Schools activities: March 20-24
• Storytelling & game: FREE – Suva Library – March 28 – 3.30-5pm
• Kids screening & activity: FREE – 3-8 years old (30 minutes movie) March 29 – 3.30-5.30pm
• Teens screening & activity: FREE – 8-14 years old – March 30 – 4-6pm

Francophonie in Practice:

• Plume d’Or Dictation: FREE – March 22 – 6-8pm
• French Breakfast (France): 15 FJD – March 27 – 8.30-10.30am
• Afro Dance class with JBL (Congo DRC): 15 FJD – March 31 – 6-7.30pm

For Art Lovers:

• Movie night: “Casablanca Beats” (Morocco): FREE – March 23 – 7pm
• Poetry workshop with the Poetry Shop & Mathilde Forest (Fiji & Québec): Poets only – April 4 – 5.30-8.30pm
• Creative cyanotype workshop with Mathilde Forest (Québec): April 3 – 5.30-7.30pm

Francophonie Open Day – April 1:

• Open Day: (11.30am to 6pm) Francophone potluck, book fair, raffle, demo classes, storytelling, board games, short movie festival, cooking class, drawing workshop, writing workshop…
• Exhibition Opening Ceremony – “Tales from the Sea” (Mathilde Forest Québec): 6pm
• Live Music (Vanuatu Students Association: David): 8pm

All events will take place at the Centre Janette Gatty, unless otherwise specified.
