Local Field Guide and Bird Apps: Carry a bird field guide or use bird identification apps to help you identify unfamiliar species.

Patience is Key: Fiji’s birds can be shy. Find a tranquil spot, stay still, and be patient; they’ll come into view.

Learn Fijian Bird Calls: Familiarize yourself with the calls and songs of Fijian birds. This can be crucial for identifying species in the dense tropical forests. Many birds are easier to identify by sound and most bird calls are recorded to listen to online.

Use Camouflage and Stay Quiet: Wear neutral-colored clothing and avoid making sudden movements or loud noises that could scare away birds.

Time of Day Matters: Birds are often more active during early morning and late afternoon, so plan your outings accordingly.

Respect Wildlife and Habitats: Keep a safe distance from nests and avoid disturbing birds or their habitats.
